Visas & Work Permits

All UK passport holders visiting Turkey need a visa, with three-month visas obtainable at border posts for £10 (pounds only)

If you are intending to stay for any length of time, or seek employment, residency visas and work permits can be obtained from the Turkish Embassy or Consulate in London. They can take up to two months to process, or you can apply for a residency permit at a police headquarters in Turkey. You must show that you have a regular income (by showing a work contract) or sufficient savings. Foreigners tend to get jobs in the tourist resorts or the large citsies.
